AVALux Reimagined Shaders FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I turn on the shader after installing it?
Open Options > Video Settings > Shaders, then select AVALux Reimagined from the list. You'll see the shader activate immediately in your world.
Why are my shadows flickering or looking weird?
Flickering shadows often happen when shadow distance is set too high for your hardware. Lower the shadow quality in the shader settings menu, or switch to a lower performance profile that matches your computer.
Can I use this shader with other mods?
Yes, AVALux Reimagined works with most mods, but mods that heavily alter lighting or add custom blocks may cause visual conflicts. Test your mod combination in a test world first.
How do I make colored lighting brighter or dimmer?
Open the shader options menu (usually by pressing a key in-game or through Video Settings) and adjust the colored lighting intensity slider. You can also tweak individual light source colors if the shader supports it.
My FPS dropped a lot after installing this. What do I do?
Switch to the Low or Medium performance profile in the shader settings instead of High. You can also lower shadow distance, disable certain lighting effects, or reduce render distance if needed.
Does this shader work in the Nether and End?
Yes, the shader applies to all dimensions, though the Nether and End have their own lighting rules. Colored lighting from Nether blocks and End light sources will still cast their distinct glows.
Why do my water and glass look different than before?
AVALux Reimagined enhances water reflections and transparency as part of its semi-realistic visuals. This is intentional, but you can adjust water brightness in the shader settings if it looks too different.
Can I use this shader on a multiplayer server?
Yes, shaders are client-side only, so they won't affect other players or require server installation. Everyone sees the shader effects on their own computer based on their settings.
How do I know which performance profile to pick?
Start with the profile matching your computer type (Low for older PCs, Medium for mid-range, High for powerful rigs), then launch a world and check your FPS. Adjust up or down based on whether you get smooth gameplay.
Why do caves look too dark or too bright with this shader?
Adjust the ambient lighting or cave brightness slider in the shader options menu to find a balance that works for you. You can also tweak the overall brightness to match your preference.
