Autowork Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I get started with Autowork Mod?
Craft your first blocks using basic materials like wood, stone, and redstone. Start simple by placing an
Extractor next to a chest and powering it with redstone to move items into an adjacent container. Once you understand how redstone signals control blocks, you can chain multiple machines together to build more complex systems.

Breeze Collector?
The
Extractor pulls items from one container and pushes them into another when powered by redstone. The
Breeze Collector automatically gathers loose items (drops) floating in front of it and stores them in a container behind it, without needing redstone power.

Chute?
Use a filtered
Chute variant instead of a standard Chute. Filtered Chutes let you specify which item types pass through, while other items are blocked and can be redirected elsewhere.

Drill to break specific block types?
The
Drill breaks blocks directly in front of it when powered, but it doesn't have built-in filtering for specific block types. You'll need to use redstone logic or positioning to control when and where the Drill operates.

Distributor work with multiple chests?
Place a
Distributor facing multiple chests in a line, then send items into it. The Distributor splits incoming items evenly across all connected chests, cycling through them to keep storage balanced.

Transmitter and Receiver blocks?
Transmitters send wireless redstone signals to Receivers with matching frequencies, allowing you to trigger machines across large distances without running redstone wire everywhere.
Can the Fan block move items through water or lava?
The Fan pushes items and mobs with airflow in the direction it faces. It works best in open air; flowing liquids may interfere with item movement depending on your setup.
Do I need to power every block with redstone?
No—only blocks that need activation (like the
Extractor and
Drill) require redstone signals. Passive blocks like Chutes and the
Breeze Collector work without power, and the
Placer only needs redstone to trigger placement.

Yes, Autowork blocks are designed to integrate with vanilla containers and redstone. You can combine them with hoppers, droppers, and standard chests to extend your automation options.
What happens if I send too many items into one container at once?
Items will back up in the system and may drop on the ground if the container fills completely. Use Distributors or multiple output chests to spread the load and prevent overflow.
