How to Connect to a Server Using AutoModpack and Sync the Modpack
When you join a server that runs AutoModpack, the mod checks the server's modpack manifest against your local files and offers to sync. This is the core workflow for players.
Joining and Accepting the Sync
1. Install AutoModpack on your client (it must be present for the sync prompt to appear).
2. Add the server to your multiplayer list and connect as normal.
3. On first join, AutoModpack detects missing, outdated, or extra files and shows a sync screen before the game loads you into the world.
4. Review the list of files it wants to add, update, or remove. Only proceed if you trust the server owner — the server can push any files into your game folder.
5. Confirm the sync and let it download. Progress is shown per-file.
6. When it finishes, the game restarts or reloads so the new mods take effect. Reconnect and you should land in the world.
If the Sync Screen Doesn't Appear
- Make sure AutoModpack is actually loaded on your client, not just on the server.
- Check that you are connecting to the correct server address.
- If you previously declined a sync, disconnect and reconnect to trigger the prompt again.
After Syncing
Your mods folder now matches the server. On later joins, AutoModpack only downloads what changed, so updates are quick.
