How auto-smelting works

With Auto Smelt Mod installed, the ore-to-ingot conversion happens instantly when you break an ore block with a pickaxe. No furnace, fuel, or smelting time required.

Mine ores normally

Simply use a pickaxe appropriate for the ore type and break the block as you normally would. Instead of receiving raw ore, you'll immediately receive the finished ingot in your inventory.

This applies to:

• Standard ores like iron, gold, copper, and others
• Any custom ores added by the mod or configured in its settings

What you need to know

• No fuel cost: You don't need to provide coal, wood, or other fuel sources
• Instant conversion: The ingot appears immediately—no waiting for smelting to complete
• Efficiency boost: You save inventory space by not collecting raw ore, and you skip the furnace step entirely
• Experience: Check if the mod grants smelting experience when you mine, depending on your version and configuration

This makes early-game resource gathering significantly faster and reduces the tedium of managing furnaces.
