Optimize Lighting in Caves and Dark Areas
Access Lighting Options
In shader settings, find sections labeled "torch glow," "light spread," or "ambient lighting." These control how light from torches and other sources behaves in dark spaces.
Increase Torch Glow Radius
Raise the torch glow or light spread value to make torches illuminate larger areas. This creates a more magical, atmospheric cave experience while keeping navigation easier. Higher values make light fade more gradually into darkness.
Adjust Ambient Light
Ambient lighting fills shadows with a soft glow, preventing caves from becoming pitch-black. Increase this if caves feel too dark and oppressive; decrease it if you prefer more contrast and challenge.
Fine-Tune Color Temperature
Some settings let you adjust whether torch light appears warmer (orange/yellow) or cooler (blue/white). Warmer light feels cozy and inviting; cooler light creates an eerie mood.
Test Your Setup
Build a small underground chamber with torches and compare the lighting before and after adjustments. Visit natural caves to see how your settings affect exploration. The goal is balancing atmosphere with visibility.
