How to give a player XP, levels or a stat bonus with admin commands

Before you start

You need operator status or the relevant AuraSkills permissions. Use tab-completion after /skills to see which subcommands you can run, since available options depend on your permissions.

Give XP or set a level

1. Add XP to a player's skill: /skills xp add <player> <skill> <amount>

2. Set a skill level directly: /skills skill setlevel <player> <skill> <level>

3. Open /skills as that player, or check their action bar, to confirm the change.

Setting a level can trigger the rewards configured for that level, which is useful for testing. Rewards are defined in the plugin's rewards folder, where you can add commands or items to run when a level is reached.

Add a temporary stat modifier

A modifier changes a stat without touching levels. Use the modifier command along the lines of /skills modifier add <player> <stat> <name> <value>. Each modifier needs a unique name, so you can remove it later with the matching remove subcommand. Check tab-completion for the exact argument order on your install.

Good practice

  • Use clear modifier names, such as one per event or item, so you can tell them apart.
  • After editing any config files, run /skills reload before testing.
  • Test on a spare account or a test server first if you plan to run many commands or reset data.
