How to check your skill levels, stats and progress with /skills

Open the skills menu

Run /skills in chat. The main menu lists every enabled skill, along with your current level and progress toward the next one. Click a skill to see:

• the abilities it unlocks and the level each is gained at
• the XP sources that count for it, such as the blocks you break or the mobs you kill
• the rewards you get at each level

Skills you have disabled or not unlocked won't be shown, and server owners can reorder or restyle the menus. If your menu looks different from a guide, the server has probably customized it.

Understand what levelling does

1. Do the activity tied to a skill. Mining ores raises Mining, harvesting crops raises Farming, and fighting mobs raises Fighting.

2. Watch for the XP and level-up messages. Most servers show XP gains on the action bar.

3. Open /skills again and click the skill you just levelled to see what changed.

4. Check your stats from the main menu. Skills grant stat bonuses on level-up, such as Strength, Health, Regeneration, Luck, Wisdom and Toughness. These apply automatically.

Tips

• If a skill isn't gaining XP, check its sources page in the menu. Some actions, like breaking blocks you placed yourself, may not give XP depending on server settings.
• Your server may have XP multipliers active, so progress can be faster or slower than on other servers.
• Ask an admin if a menu is missing something. Everything shown comes from configurable files.
