Customize Sound Priority for Your Playstyle
Understanding the Priority System
Audio Engine Tweaks Mod sorts sounds by category (0 = highest priority) and distance from the player. You can reconfigure which sound types matter most to you.
Changing Sound Priorities
1. Open your config file via ModMenu or direct file editing.
2. Review the category assignments:
- Category 0: MASTER, VOICE (always highest priority)
- Category 1: PLAYERS
- Category 2: HOSTILE
- Category 3: BLOCKS
- Category 4: MUSIC, RECORDS
- Category 5: NEUTRAL
- Category 6: WEATHER, AMBIENT
3. Reassign categories based on your preference. For example:
- Move HOSTILE to category 1 if mob sounds matter more than player sounds.
- Move WEATHER to category 6 if ambience is less important.
4. Adjust fill-level thresholds for each category to control when they're allowed to play.
5. Save and test in-game to hear the difference.
Distance-Based Sorting
Within each category, closer sounds play first. You cannot change this behavior—it's built into the mod's design to keep nearby audio most relevant.
