How to stop a fast cart exactly at a station
The mod includes precise one-tile braking, so a station can be short even on a fast line. You build it with standard rail parts.
Building the station
1. Run your track into the station tile at the speed you plan to use.
2. Make the final tile a powered rail with no redstone power. An unpowered powered rail acts as a brake.
3. Put a lever or button next to it so you can switch the rail on and off.
4. Optionally, place a solid block at the track end as a backstop.
Using it
1. Approach the station with the brake rail unpowered. The cart should stop on that one tile.
2. To leave, turn the rail on with the lever or button. It will push the cart off the platform.
3. Place a powered rail just after the station so the cart picks up speed quickly.
Troubleshooting
- If the cart doesn't stop where you expect, check that the brake rail really is unpowered. Nearby redstone can power it by accident.
- If you overshoot, move the backstop closer or lower
/gamerule minecartMaxSpeedPlayerRider <value>for a gentler arrival. - For automatic stations, use a detector or pressure-plate setup to control the brake rail's power, and test it with empty carts as well as ridden ones.
