Atmospherics Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I open the atmospherics menu?
Press the designated keybind (configurable in your controls settings) to open the atmospherics menu. You'll see a live preview of your current biome's atmosphere settings and can adjust them in real time.
Can I have different atmospheres for day and night in the same biome?
Yes. In the atmospherics menu, you can toggle between day and night settings for any biome and customize fog, sky color, clouds, and stars separately for each time of day.
What happens to my atmosphere settings when I travel to a different biome?
The mod smoothly transitions your atmosphere to match the settings you've configured for the new biome. If you haven't customized that biome yet, it will use default settings.
How do I save and reuse atmosphere presets?
The mod includes a preset library where you can save your custom atmosphere configurations. You can then load these presets onto any biome, and use the special editor to copy settings between biomes quickly.
Can I customize individual sky, fog, and cloud settings or do they have to change together?
Each element—fog, sky color, clouds, haze, and stars—can be customized independently for each biome. You have full control over which aspects you want to adjust.
What are Story Mode Clouds and how do I use them?
Story Mode Clouds are special cloud styles that include solid cloud options without shading effects. You can select these cloud types in the atmospherics menu when customizing your biome's appearance.
How do I add falling comets to my sky?
Open the atmospherics menu and locate the falling comets customization section. You can enable comets and adjust their appearance, frequency, and behavior to create a unique night sky effect.
Does this mod affect performance or cause lag?
The mod is designed to be lightweight, but extensive customization of multiple biomes or heavy comet effects may have minor performance impact depending on your system. Use the live info panel to monitor settings.
Can I see what my current atmosphere settings are while playing?
Yes. The mod includes a live info panel that displays your current biome's active atmosphere settings, making it easy to check fog density, sky colors, and other values without opening the full menu.
What if I want to reset a biome's atmosphere to default?
Most atmosphere menus include a reset or default option that will restore a biome's settings to their original state. Check the menu options or settings panel for a reset button.
