Fix Flickering or Uneven Lighting

Identify the Problem

Flickering often occurs at chunk boundaries or when moving between different lighting zones. Uneven lighting might appear as harsh transitions between bright and shadowed areas. Both issues relate to how Atherial processes the fantasy lighting system.

Check Shader Options

Look for settings labeled "lighting smoothing," "shadow quality," or "light transitions" in your Shader Options menu. Increasing these values can reduce flickering and create smoother gradients between lit and dark areas.

Verify Render Distance

Sometimes lighting glitches occur when render distance is too high for your system. Try reducing it slightly and see if flickering stops. This helps Atherial calculate lighting more consistently.

Update and Reinstall

If problems persist, verify your shader installation is complete. Corrupted files or incomplete updates can cause visual glitches. Reinstalling Atherial often resolves persistent lighting issues without affecting your world.
