10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I enable Atherial Shaders after installing it?
Open your Video Settings, go to Shaders, and select Atherial from the list. The shader will apply immediately to your world.
Why does my game look too dark with Atherial on?
Adjust the brightness slider in the shader settings menu (accessible from Video Settings > Shaders > Shader Options). You can also increase contrast to make details pop more.
Can I use Atherial Shaders with other mods?
Yes, Atherial works with most mods, but mods that heavily modify lighting or add custom blocks may cause visual conflicts. Test your mod combination in a test world first.
My FPS drops a lot when I use Atherial. How do I fix this?
Lower the shader quality settings in the Shader Options menu, reduce your render distance, or disable shadow quality if available. You can also check if other resource-heavy mods are running simultaneously.
Why does water look weird or have strange reflections?
Check the Shader Options for water-specific settings and adjust reflection quality or water transparency. If reflections flicker, try disabling and re-enabling the shader, or update to the latest version.
Does Atherial work in the Nether and End dimensions?
Yes, Atherial applies its lighting effects to all dimensions, though the fantasy lighting style may look different in darker environments like the Nether.
Why is my lighting uneven or flickering in certain areas?
This often happens near chunk boundaries or with certain block types. Try adjusting shadow distance in Shader Options, or make sure your graphics drivers are up to date.
Can I use Atherial with Optifine instead of Iris?
No, Atherial is built specifically for Iris and will not work with Optifine. You must use Iris as your shader mod.
How do I turn off Atherial without uninstalling it?
Go to Video Settings > Shaders and select "Off" or "None" from the shader list. The mod stays installed but won't affect your visuals.
Why do colors look oversaturated or washed out?
Adjust the color saturation or vibrance settings in Shader Options to find a balance that suits your monitor. If colors are washed out, try increasing contrast instead.
