Adjust Shader Brightness and Contrast

Access Shader Settings

Open your pause menu and navigate to Options → Video Settings → Shader Options. This opens the Atherial configuration panel where you can fine-tune how the shader renders your world.

Modify Brightness

Look for brightness or exposure sliders in the shader options menu. Atherial's vibrant color system can sometimes feel intense in certain biomes or times of day. Reducing brightness helps balance the fantasy lighting without losing the colorful aesthetic. Increase it if caves or night scenes feel too dark.

Adjust Contrast

Contrast controls how distinct light and shadow appear. Higher contrast makes the magical lighting more dramatic; lower contrast softens transitions between lit and shadowed areas. This is especially useful if you find the fantasy-style lighting too extreme for your playstyle.

Apply and Test

Changes apply in real-time. Walk around different biomes—forests, deserts, and water areas—to see how your adjustments look across varied lighting conditions. You can always return to these settings if you want to experiment further.
