Reducing Nether Fog for Better Visibility
Open Shader Configuration
Press Right Shift + R to access shader options. Find the Nether or Dimension-Specific settings tab.
Locate Fog Controls
Search for options labeled:
- Nether Fog Density or Fog Amount
- Fog Distance or Fog Range
- Nether Visibility Distance
Slide these values downward to progressively clear the Nether atmosphere. The shader is designed to reduce fog compared to vanilla, but you can push it further for maximum clarity.
Apply and Test
Changes take effect immediately. Travel to the Nether and move around to verify visibility improves. If you reduce fog too much, the infernal aurora overhead may appear disconnected from the environment—find a balance that keeps both atmospheric and functional.
Note: Extremely low fog values may impact performance slightly on lower-end systems, though this shader prioritizes balanced performance.
