Astral Ember Prism Shaders FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I turn on the auroras?
Auroras are enabled by default in Astral Ember Prism Shaders and appear every night automatically. If you don't see them, check that your shader settings haven't disabled sky effects, and make sure you're playing at night or in a dark enough area for them to be visible.
The auroras are too bright/dim for me. How do I adjust them?
Open your shader options (usually F2 or through your shader menu) and look for aurora intensity or brightness settings. You can also adjust aurora frequency to make them appear more or less often throughout the night.
Why is the Nether still foggy?
The Nether fog reduction is a built-in feature, but if you still see heavy fog, check that you haven't accidentally enabled fog effects in your shader settings or that another mod isn't overriding the fog behavior. Make sure your shader is fully loaded by restarting your game.
Can I make the sunset colors less intense?
Yes—access your shader options and look for sunset saturation, color intensity, or sky color settings. Lowering these values will give you more subtle magenta and purple tones without oversaturation.
Is this shader compatible with other mods?
Astral Ember Prism Shaders works with most mods, but mods that heavily alter sky rendering, fog, or lighting may conflict. Test compatibility by running the shader with your other mods and watching for visual glitches or crashes.
My FPS dropped a lot after installing this. What can I do?
Try lowering shadow distance, reducing aurora quality, or disabling nebula effects in your shader settings. Since this shader is built on Complementary Unbound, it's designed for medium-tier performance—if you're still struggling, lower your render distance or reduce other graphics settings.
Do the nebulae show up during the day?
No, nebulae only appear at night when the sky is dark enough. During the day, you'll see the standard Minecraft sky with the shader's enhanced lighting and shadow effects.
Why do my blocks look different than in the screenshots?
Block appearance depends on your lighting settings, time of day, and biome. Make sure you're viewing blocks under similar lighting conditions to the screenshots—night scenes will look very different from day scenes due to the shader's fantasy lighting.
Can I use this shader with a resource pack?
Yes, Astral Ember Prism Shaders works with most resource packs. If you notice visual conflicts (like textures looking wrong or colors clashing), try adjusting your shader's color or saturation settings to match your resource pack better.
The infernal aurora in the Nether doesn't look right. What's wrong?
Make sure you're deep enough in the Nether for the aurora to render properly, and check that your shader settings haven't disabled Nether-specific effects. If it's still not working, try reloading your shader or restarting your game.
