How to Use the Phoenix Flamerang
What It Does
The Phoenix Flamerang is a thrown weapon that returns to you like a boomerang. When thrown, it travels out, damages or ignites what it hits, and then flies back to your position. Because it comes back, you do not lose it on a miss, which makes it a reliable ranged option for exploration and combat.
Throwing and Catching
Select the Flamerang and use it to throw. It will arc away from you and return after a short delay. Move to catch it on the way back; if you step aside, it will still home toward you, but standing still makes the catch more consistent. Do not throw it over a ledge you cannot recover from, since a lost return path means waiting for it to come back or retrieving it manually.
Combat and Utility Tips
- Throw it at a group of mobs to hit several on the outbound and return trips.
- Use it to set fires at range, then follow up with melee.
- It works well in the Aether where open air gives the return arc room to travel.
- Pair it with a shield in your offhand so you can block while waiting for the catch.
- Practice the timing in a safe area before relying on it in a fight.
