How to Make Hedges and Leaf Carpets From Skyroot Leaves

Crafting the Hedge and Carpet

Skyroot hedges and leaf carpets are decorative leaf blocks that let you cover ground and build dense foliage without full leaf blocks. A Skyroot Hedge is crafted from the corresponding leaf type, and a Leaf Carpet is a thin layer you place on top of a solid block. The Aether-themed variants include Crystal Skyroot Hedge, Golden Skyroot Hedge, Holiday Skyroot Hedge, and Decorated Holiday Skyroot Hedge, each paired with a matching leaf carpet.

Using Them in Builds

Hedges work like fences but look like trimmed foliage, so they suit gardens, maze walls, and property borders. Leaf carpets are ideal for paths, under-tree ground cover, and rooftops where a full leaf block would be too bulky. Because carpets are thin, you can layer them over dirt, grass, or stone and still see the surface color through gaps if you leave spaces.

Placement Notes

  • Hedges connect to adjacent hedges and solid blocks, forming continuous runs.
  • Leaf carpets need a solid block beneath them and will not float.
  • Combine Crystal, Golden, and Holiday variants in the same garden for color variation; each keeps its own leaf texture.
  • Use hedges around a Hollow Skyroot Log planter to suggest a living tree base.
