ARTShade Shaders FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I turn on ARTShade Shaders after installing it?
Open your Video Settings, go to Shaders, and select ARTShade Shaders from the list. The cartoon style and bloom effects will apply immediately to your world.
Why does my world look washed out or too bright?
This usually means bloom intensity is too high for your brightness settings. Open the shader options menu (usually by pressing a key while in-game) and reduce the bloom intensity slider, then adjust your game brightness to find a balance you like.
Can I use ARTShade Shaders with other mods?
Yes, ARTShade works with most mods, but mods that heavily change lighting or add custom blocks may look unusual. Test your mod combination in a small world first to check for visual conflicts.
My shadows look too dark or too light. How do I fix this?
Use the shadow softness and direction settings in the shader options to adjust shadow intensity and angle. Increasing softness makes shadows blend more smoothly, while direction controls which way they fall.
Is ARTShade Shaders causing my lag?
Try enabling the performance mode or reducing bloom intensity in the shader settings. If lag continues, lower your render distance or disable shadow softness temporarily to identify which feature impacts your frame rate most.
Why can't I see water reflections?
Water reflections may be disabled in your shader settings or set too low to notice. Open the shader options and look for a water reflection or reflection quality slider, then increase it to make reflections more visible.
Do leaves and grass actually move, or is it just the shader?
The waving motion is a visual effect created by the shader—the blocks themselves don't move. This is purely cosmetic and doesn't affect gameplay or collision.
Will ARTShade Shaders work on old computers or laptops?
ARTShade is designed to be lightweight, but very old systems may still struggle. Start with performance mode enabled and disable bloom or shadows if needed to improve frame rate.
How do I turn off just the bloom effect but keep the cartoon style?
Open the shader options menu and set bloom intensity to its lowest value or disable it entirely. The cartoon colors and soft shadows will remain active.
Why do some blocks look different colors than normal Minecraft?
ARTShade brightens and saturates colors to create its fantasy look—this is intentional and part of the cartoon style. If specific blocks look wrong, check if a mod is conflicting with the shader's color adjustments.
