Armor Upgrades Data Pack FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I craft the different armor types?
Each armor type uses its corresponding material (Fire, Ender, Prismarine, Dune, or Sculk) in the standard armor crafting patterns on a crafting table. Refer to the crafting recipes guide on the wiki for the exact material layouts for helmets, chestplates, leggings, and boots.
Do I need the full set of armor to get the special effects?
Full set bonuses (like Fire Resistance or Conduit Power) only activate when wearing all four pieces of the same armor type. Individual pieces still grant their stat bonuses even if you're not wearing the complete set.
Can I mix and match different armor types?
Yes, you can wear pieces from different armor sets together, and you'll receive all the individual stat bonuses from each piece. However, you won't trigger any full-set effects unless all four pieces are from the same armor type.
What's the best armor for PvP combat?
Sculk Armor is the strongest choice for PvP due to its attack damage boost and immunity to all negative effects when wearing the full set, making you extremely difficult to control or debilitate.
Does Fire Armor actually protect me from lava damage?
Fire Armor doesn't reduce lava damage to your health, but wearing the full set grants Fire Resistance, which prevents all fire and lava damage. Individual pieces won't protect you from lava damage itself.
If my Ender Armor falls into the void, will I be able to get it back?
Yes—Ender Armor pieces that fall into the void will levitate in place, glow, and never despawn, so you can always retrieve them by building back up or using other methods to reach them.
Does Prismarine Armor work in regular water or only in the ocean?
Prismarine Armor bonuses work in any water source, including rivers, lakes, and rain. The water_movement_efficiency and oxygen_bonus apply whenever you're submerged, regardless of biome.
What does the Dune Armor's interaction range bonus actually do?
The increased entity_interaction_range lets you interact with mobs and players from slightly farther away, while block_interaction_range lets you place and break blocks from a greater distance, similar to a reach enhancement.
Is this mod compatible with other armor mods?
Since this is a data pack, compatibility depends on whether other mods or data packs modify the same armor mechanics. Test by installing alongside other mods; conflicts are rare but possible with mods that heavily alter armor stats.
Do these armors have the same durability as Netherite?
Refer to the mod's stats page on the wiki for exact durability values, as they vary by armor type and are balanced around their unique effects rather than matching Netherite directly.
