Armor Stand Arms Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I add arms to an armor stand?
Stand within 3 blocks of the armor stand and run /trigger armorstandarms. The arms appear immediately on the nearest armor stand in range.
Why does /trigger armorstandarms do nothing?
You're most likely too far from the armor stand — you must be within 3 blocks. Move closer and run the command again.
Can I remove the arms once I add them?
Run the same /trigger armorstandarms command again while near the stand to toggle the arms off. It works as a toggle, not a one-way change.
How do I make an armor stand hold a sword or tool?
Add arms first, then place the item into the armor stand's hand slot through its inventory or by using the item on it. The stand will pose with the item in hand.
Does the mod work on a server if players dont have it installed?
Yes — it's server-side only, so players can join and see armed armor stands without installing anything. Only the server needs the mod.
Do I need to install this on my client for singleplayer?
For singleplayer you need it installed on your own game, since your client is effectively the server. On a multiplayer server, only the server side matters.
Can I give arms to multiple armor stands at once?
The command affects the armor stand nearest to you within range, so you'll need to run it near each stand individually. There's no built-in mass-arm command.
Why cant I put items in the armor stands hands?
The stand needs arms before it can hold anything — an armless stand has no hand slots to fill. Add arms with the trigger command first, then insert the item.
Does this mod conflict with other armor stand mods or datapacks?
It generally coexists with vanilla armor stand behavior, but other mods that also modify armor stands or use the same trigger command can clash. If arms stop working, test with other armor stand mods disabled.
Will lots of armed armor stands lag my server?
Armed stands are lightweight and behave like normal armor stands, so performance impact is minimal. Heavy lag is more likely from the number of entities and items you're displaying, not the arms themselves.
