Armor Poser Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I open the Armor Poser GUI?
Shift-click on an armor stand while holding nothing (or while not sneaking into a block interaction) to open the configuration GUI. If shift-clicking just places a block or does nothing, make sure you're aiming directly at the armor stand and not sneaking with an item that has its own shift function.
Can I pose an armor stand without commands or datapacks?
Yes, that's the whole point of the mod. The GUI gives you sliders and buttons for each body part, so you can rotate the head, arms, legs, and body without typing any NBT or commands.
How do I give an armor stand arms?
Open the GUI with shift-click and toggle the arms option. Once arms are enabled, the arm pose controls become usable and you can put items in its hands.
How do I hide the base plate on an armor stand?
In the Armor Poser GUI there's a toggle for the base plate (sometimes labeled 'No Base Plate' or similar). Flip it and the stone slab under the stand disappears.
How do I put a sword or item into an armor stand's hand?
With the GUI open, click the item into the hand slot shown in the interface, or shift-click items from your inventory into those slots. You need arms enabled first, otherwise there's nowhere for the item to go.
My armor stand won't open the GUI when I shift-click — what's wrong?
Common causes: you're in creative and shift-clicking is placing a block, you're too far away, or another mod is intercepting the interaction. Try aiming at the stand's hitbox directly and standing closer.
Does Armor Poser work on armor stands that already have a pose or items?
Yes. The GUI reads the stand's current pose and properties and lets you edit them, so you can fine-tune an existing statue or shop display without resetting it.
Can I copy a pose from one armor stand to another?
The mod is focused on editing a single stand's pose and properties through the GUI rather than a copy/paste system. If you need identical poses, set one up and manually match the sliders on the others.
Is Armor Poser compatible with other armor stand mods and vanilla armor stands?
It works on vanilla armor stands, so it's generally fine alongside decoration and building mods. Conflicts can happen with mods that also override armor stand interaction or add their own stand GUI — if shift-click stops working, check what else touches armor stands.
Does posing armor stands with this mod cause lag or performance issues?
No — posing just changes the stand's stored rotation and property data, which is the same kind of data vanilla armor stands already use. A large number of posed stands in one area can still cost performance, but the mod itself doesn't add ongoing tick overhead.
