Identify Enchantments by Book Texture

How Book Textures Work

Each enchanted book in your inventory now displays a unique texture that corresponds to its enchantment. Instead of all enchanted books looking identical, you can instantly recognize spells like Sharpness, Mending, or Silk Touch by their distinct cover designs and symbolic artwork.

Finding Your Enchantment

1. Open your inventory and look at any enchanted book

2. Examine the cover design and symbols—these visually represent the enchantment type

3. Cross-reference unfamiliar designs by hovering over the book to see its tooltip (the old method still works)

4. Over time, you'll memorize which textures match which enchantments

Multi-Enchantment Books

Books with multiple enchantments receive dedicated composite artwork that blends visual elements from each spell. This helps you quickly assess what a book contains before applying it to a tool or weapon.

Modded Books

If you have mods like Farmer's Delight, Enderscape, or Deeper and Darker installed, their custom enchantments also receive unique textures. These follow the same visual language as vanilla books, keeping your library organized and thematic.
