Arcane Archive Vellum Resource Pack FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I know which enchantment is on a book just by looking at it?
Each enchanted book has a unique custom texture with distinct cover designs and magical symbols that correspond to its enchantment type. Once you learn the visual patterns, you can identify spells instantly without hovering over the book or reading tooltips.
Why do some of my enchanted books still look vanilla?
The pack includes textures for all vanilla enchanted books plus books from several popular mods. If you're using a mod not listed in the pack's features, those books won't have custom textures and will appear with default styling.
What does the Roman numeral display do?
Instead of showing raw enchantment level numbers, the pack displays proper Roman numerals (I, II, III, etc.) on book covers, making high-level enchantments easier to read at a glance and giving your library a more polished appearance.
Do I need OptiFine or CIT Resewn to use this pack?
The pack works across different versions using either OptiFine or CIT Resewn as the mod loader. Check which one your version supports and install accordingly—the pack is compatible with both.
Can I see colored enchantment names on the books?
Yes, if you pair this pack with the Respackopts mod, you'll unlock optional colored enchantment names that display on book textures, adding another layer of visual organization to your library.
Does this pack work with modded enchanted books?
The pack includes custom textures for books from mods like Farmer's Delight, Enderscape, Frostiful, and Deeper and Darker. Books from other mods will use default textures unless the pack is updated to include them.
How do I organize my enchanted books using this pack?
With each enchantment having a distinct visual design, you can arrange books on shelves or in chests by their appearance alone, creating an organized and visually coherent magic library without needing to sort by tooltip.
Will this pack affect my game performance?
Resource packs have minimal performance impact, and this one simply replaces textures rather than adding new mechanics or entities. You should see no noticeable FPS drop from using it.
What happens to enchanted books from mods the pack doesn't cover?
Books from unsupported mods will retain their vanilla enchanted book appearance. The pack only provides custom textures for the specific mods and datapacks listed in its features.
Can I use this pack with other resource packs?
Yes, you can layer this pack with others in your resource pack list, though load order matters—place this pack higher or lower depending on whether you want its textures to override or be overridden by other packs.
