Arboria: Biome Enhancement Data Pack FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
Do I need to create a new world to see Arboria's features?
Yes, Arboria's biome features only generate in newly created worlds. Adding it to an existing world will not retroactively add trees, lakes, or boulders to already-explored chunks.
Will Arboria change which biomes exist or where they spawn?
No, Arboria doesn't alter biome layout or distribution. You'll find the same biomes in the same locations as vanilla Minecraft; they'll just look more detailed and visually interesting.
Can I use Arboria with other biome mods or data packs?
Arboria is designed to enhance existing biomes without replacing them, so compatibility depends on what the other mod does. If another mod significantly alters biome generation, conflicts may occur; test both together in a new world first.
Why aren't there new flowers or plants in my biomes?
Arboria intentionally doesn't change flower and plant distribution—only vanilla flowers spawn in their vanilla biomes. The pack focuses on terrain variation, trees, and structures instead.
Do the new trees grow naturally or only generate at world creation?
The enhanced trees generate as part of world creation in their respective biomes. Naturally grown trees from bone meal will follow vanilla tree types for that biome.
Will Arboria affect my world's performance?
Arboria is a lightweight data pack that adds visual details without changing fundamental terrain generation, so performance impact should be minimal on most systems.
Can I disable Arboria's features in specific biomes?
Arboria doesn't provide built-in options to disable features per biome. You would need to manually edit the data pack files to remove specific biome enhancements.
Do the lakes and ponds have fish or other mobs in them?
Lakes and ponds generate as terrain features only; mob spawning follows vanilla rules, so fish may spawn naturally if conditions allow.
Will Arboria work on a multiplayer server?
Yes, Arboria works on servers—install it as a data pack in the server's world folder, and all players will see the enhanced biomes.
Do mountains, caves, or ocean depth change with Arboria?
No, Arboria doesn't alter terrain shape, mountain height, cave generation, or ocean floor depth. It only adds decorative details like boulders and improved trees to existing terrain.
