How to Use Armor Pierce and Armor Shred Against Tanky Mobs

Apothic Attributes changes how armor and protection reduce incoming damage, which enables two offensive stats: Armor Pierce and Armor Shred. These let you punch through heavily armored enemies that would otherwise shrug off your hits.

What Each Stat Does

Armor Pierce ignores a portion of the target's armor when your attack lands, so your damage is calculated as if the enemy had less armor. Armor Shred instead reduces the target's effective armor for a duration, meaning follow-up hits from you or your allies deal more damage. Pierce is a personal burst tool; Shred is a setup tool for sustained fights.

Practical Usage

Against bosses and armored mobs, open with a Shred-applying source, then follow with your hardest-hitting weapon so the reduced armor applies to the big hit. If you only have Pierce, save it for your strongest attack rather than chip damage. Because the mod reworks the armor formula, stacking these stats past a certain point gives diminishing returns — check the Attributes GUI tooltips to see your actual effective values instead of guessing. Pair them with high base damage rather than more armor penetration once returns flatten out.
