Apothic Attributes Mod FAQ

20 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I open the attributes menu?
Open your inventory and click the sword-shaped button near the character panel. This opens the Apothic Attributes GUI showing every attribute currently affecting your player.
Why does the attributes list look so empty or short?
By default the GUI only shows attributes that have been modified from their base value. Toggle the filter off to see the full list of every attribute the game tracks.
What does hovering over an attribute in the GUI actually show me?
Hovering displays a detailed description of what the attribute does plus its current value and how it's being modified. Use this to figure out where your damage, speed, or defense numbers are coming from.
Do I need Apotheosis installed for this mod to do anything?
No. Apothic Attributes works on its own and gives you the Attributes GUI and improved tooltips even without Apotheosis. It's a library mod, so other mods can hook into it, but you can use it standalone.
What are Armor Pierce and Armor Shred and how do they differ?
Armor Pierce lets your attacks ignore a portion of the target's armor, while Armor Shred reduces the target's armor value itself for a duration. Both interact with the mod's reworked armor and protection damage reduction formula.
Why did my armor stop reducing damage the way it used to?
Apothic Attributes changes how armor and protection damage reduction is calculated so that stats like Armor Pierce and Armor Shred can function. The total reduction still caps out, but the formula behind it is different from vanilla.
My potion tooltips look different now — why?
The mod rewrites effect tooltips to add plain-language descriptions, especially for effects that aren't simple stat modifiers. If an effect's description looks unfamiliar, that's the mod explaining what it actually does.
Is this mod safe to add to an existing world?
Yes, it's a library mod that doesn't add world content, so adding or removing it won't corrupt your save. Just be aware that mods depending on it, like Apotheosis, may misbehave if you remove it.
Will Apothic Attributes hurt my performance or FPS?
It's a background framework, so the performance impact is minimal. The GUI only does work while it's open, and the attribute calculations run as part of normal combat math.
A mod I installed says it needs Apothic Attributes — what do I do?
Keep Apothic Attributes installed alongside that mod; it provides the attribute framework the other mod relies on. Removing it will cause the dependent mod to fail to load or throw errors.
How do I open the attributes menu in apothic attributes?
Open your inventory and click the sword icon button near your character. This opens the Attributes GUI showing every attribute currently affecting your player.
What does apothic attributes actually do?
It's a library mod that gives other mods a framework to add and manage player stats, and it also adds its own Attributes GUI and reworked tooltips. On its own it mostly runs in the background, but mods like Apotheosis depend on it.
Why does apotheosis say it needs apothic attributes?
Apothic Attributes provides the stat framework Apotheosis uses to register and modify attributes. Without it installed, Apotheosis and similar mods won't load correctly.
How do I see only the stats that changed?
In the Attributes GUI, use the filter option to hide unmodified attributes. This lets you quickly spot which stats your gear, potions, or effects have actually altered.
What is armor pierce and how does it work?
Armor Pierce is a stat that lets your damage ignore part of the target's armor value. It's useful against heavily armored mobs where normal hits get reduced a lot.
What's the difference between armor pierce and armor shred?
Armor Pierce bypasses a portion of the target's armor for your hit, while Armor Shred reduces the target's actual armor value, often helping subsequent hits too. Both are supported by Apothic Attributes' reworked damage reduction calculation.
Why do my potion tooltips look different now?
Apothic Attributes improves potion and effect tooltips by adding clear descriptions, especially for effects that aren't simple stat modifiers. Hover over the effect to read what it actually does.
My damage numbers seem weird after installing this mod
Apothic Attributes changes how armor and protection reduce damage to support stats like Armor Pierce and Armor Shred. This means damage reduction may behave differently than vanilla, especially against high-armor targets.
Is apothic attributes safe to add to an existing world?
Yes, it's a library mod and doesn't add world content, so it can generally be added or removed without corrupting saves. Back up your world anyway before changing mods.
Does apothic attributes cause lag or performance issues?
It's lightweight since it mostly manages stats in the background, and the GUI only loads when opened. Performance impact is usually negligible compared to content mods.
