Build Your Skill Tree and Choose Survival Perks
Accessing and Understanding the Skill Tree
The custom skill tree is your primary progression system. Unlike vanilla Minecraft, you earn skill points by surviving, crafting, and completing tasks. These points unlock perks that directly improve your survival capabilities.
Open your skill menu. Access the talent tree through your inventory or a dedicated keybind.
Review available perks. Perks are organized into categories—survival, combat, crafting, and exploration. Each tier unlocks stronger abilities.
Strategic Perk Selection
Early game: Prioritize survival perks first. Invest in temperature regulation, hunger reduction, and wound resistance to stay alive longer.
Mid game: Unlock crafting and gathering perks to speed up resource collection and gear production.
Late game: Choose combat and exploration perks to tackle harder infected zones and dangerous NPC factions.
Plan ahead. Some perks require prerequisites. Map out a path toward your desired late-game abilities.
Don't spread points too thin—focus on one or two perk lines initially. As you earn more points, you can branch into secondary trees. Experiment with different builds to find your playstyle.
