Combine Multiple Enchantments Without Seeing the Too Expensive Warning

Merging Enchanted Books Freely

One common anvil use is combining enchanted books onto tools and weapons. The Anvil Too Expensive Mod lets you attempt this repeatedly without the warning message blocking your view.

Process for Combining Enchantments

1. Place your item in the left anvil slot

2. Place an enchanted book in the right slot

3. The anvil will show the experience cost

4. Proceed with the upgrade—no "Too Expensive" text will stop you

5. Repeat with additional enchanted books

What Happens at the Limit

Without server-side modifications, you'll eventually reach a point where the anvil silently refuses the upgrade. You won't see a warning message (that's what the mod removes), but the upgrade simply won't happen.

Maximizing Your Enchantments

To stack many enchantments:

  • Combine books with the same enchantment first to create higher-level books
  • Apply high-level books to your item
  • Work methodically to avoid wasting materials

The mod makes this process less visually obstructed, but server rules still determine how many total upgrades are possible.
