How to Repair and Damage Anvils

Restoring and Damaging Placed Anvils

The Anvil Restoration Mod adds two simple interactions to placed anvils, letting you change their condition without breaking and recrafting them.

To repair an anvil, right-click it while holding an iron ingot. Each use restores the anvil by one damage stage and consumes the ingot. This means a heavily damaged anvil can be brought back to full condition with enough iron ingots, saving you the cost of crafting a replacement.

To damage an anvil, right-click it while holding obsidian. Each use pushes the anvil one stage closer to being damaged, but it will never be destroyed this way. The obsidian is not consumed, so a single piece can be reused as many times as you like.

This makes the mod useful both for practical repairs and for aesthetic builds, since you can safely adjust an anvil's appearance without risking the block.
