How to Build a Flower Box Display
Flower Boxes Explained
Flower boxes are decorative planters that attach to the sides of blocks, most commonly under windows. They come in every wood type the mod supports, so you can match them to your shutters and shelves.
Setting Up a Flower Box
1. Place the flower box against the side of a block, typically just below a window or along a fence.
2. Right-click the box while holding a flower, sapling, or similar plant to insert it.
3. The plant renders inside the box, giving the appearance of a window planter.
You can usually fit more than one plant per box, so experiment with combinations — a mix of colors looks best under a bright window. To remove a plant, right-click the box again to take it back out.
Design Ideas
- Line flower boxes under a row of shutters for a cottage facade.
- Use them along balcony railings or fence tops for a garden feel.
- Pair matching wood flower boxes with benches and tables on a patio.
Flower boxes are cosmetic, so they won't grow crops or spread plants. Treat them as decoration and swap the contents seasonally to change the look of a build without rebuilding anything.
