Get an animated resource pack working with Animatica

Animatica reads the animation files inside a resource pack and plays them in-game, so you don't need OptiFine. The pack does the work. The mod only needs to be loaded alongside it.

Enable the pack

1. Put the animated resource pack in your resourcepacks folder, or drag it onto the pack screen.

2. Open Options → Resource Packs.

3. Move the pack to the *selected* side.

4.

If the animations don't appear right away, press F3 + T in-game to reload resources.

Check the pack order

Packs higher in the selected list override the ones below them. If another pack has the same textures and sits above your animated pack, it will cover the animation. Move the animated pack to the top, or make sure the packs above it don't touch the same textures.

Quick checks if nothing moves

  • Confirm the pack was made for animated textures (animated menus, mobs, armor). Many ordinary packs contain no animations.
  • Look at the pack's folder structure. Animation definitions are normally .properties files in an anim folder, such as assets/minecraft/optifine/anim.
  • Check the game log for resource errors after reloading.
  • Remember that Animatica only handles animation. Connected textures and custom 3D models in the same pack won't work through it.
