Animatica Refabricated Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I get an animated resource pack working with Animatica?
Put the resource pack in your resourcepacks folder, enable it in the Resource Packs screen, and make sure it's one built for OptiFine-style animations. Animatica reads those animation files itself, so you don't need OptiFine. If nothing moves, reload resources or restart the game.
Do I need OptiFine to use Animatica?
No. Animatica's purpose is to supply OptiFine-style animated textures without OptiFine. Running both together is unnecessary and can cause conflicts.
Why isn't my resource pack animating anything?
Check that the pack is enabled and sits above packs that overwrite the same textures. Then check that its animation files are in the folder structure Animatica expects. A pack that only uses features Animatica ignores will look static.
What can Animatica animate?
It handles animated menus and screens, mob textures, armor, and special blocks like chests and beds. It reads animation data from the resource pack and plays it. It adds no animations of its own.
Does Animatica support connected textures or custom 3D models?
No. Animatica only handles animations and ignores connected textures and custom models. If your pack relies on those, those parts will show as the plain default. You'd need a separate mod for them.
My animated menu or title screen background just looks static. What's wrong?
The pack probably doesn't include animated GUI textures, or a higher-priority pack is overriding them. Move the animated pack to the top of your list and reload resources. Open the menu again afterward, since some screens only update when reopened.
How do I make my own simple animation for a texture?
Make a properties file in the pack's animation folder that names the source image, the texture to replace, and the frame area and duration. Then reload the pack and look at the target texture in-game. Start with one small texture so you can quickly see whether the file is being read.
Will animated resource packs hurt my FPS?
Animations take some extra work, especially large frames or many animated textures at once. If your FPS drops, try a lighter pack, reduce the number of animated textures, or use lower-resolution frames. Performance mods can help overall.
Does Animatica work with Sodium and other performance mods?
It's commonly run alongside performance mods, and that's the usual setup. If animations break, remove other rendering mods one at a time to find the conflict. Then test with just Animatica and your pack.
Why do animations look wrong or stuck after I change packs?
Old textures can linger until resources are reloaded. Reload resources, or restart the game if that doesn't fix it. Also check that the pack order doesn't mix animations from two different packs on the same texture.
