Using Buttons and Pressure Plates with Animated Double Doors

How Redstone Triggers the Animation

The Animated Doors Mod hooks into the door's open/closed block state. Any redstone source that changes that state — a wooden button, stone button, pressure plate, lever, tripwire, or redstone dust — will trigger the swing animation on both halves of a linked pair. You do not need a special trigger block.

Practical Builds

1. Button entry. Place a button on the wall beside one door. Press it and both doors swing open, then close after the button's pulse ends. This is ideal for a base entrance where you want the doors to shut behind you.

2. Pressure plate floor. Put a pressure plate in front of the doorway. Stepping on it opens both doors; stepping off closes them. Works for both players and mobs, so use wooden plates only where you want mobs to trigger them.

3. Lever for held-open. A lever keeps the signal on, so the doors stay open until you flip it back — useful for a garage or storage room.

Remember that iron doors ignore right-click, so a button or plate is mandatory for them. Wooden doors can be opened by hand as well, and the animation plays either way.
