How to Make Double Doors Open Together with the Animated Doors Mod

Understanding the Connection Mechanic

The Animated Doors Mod automatically links two doors that are placed side by side and facing the same direction, so opening one opens both. You do not need a config option or a special item — the mod detects adjacent doors on its own. The key requirement is that the two doors must form a valid double-door pair: same wood type (or both iron), placed in the same two-block gap, with their hinges on opposite outer edges.

Step-by-Step Setup

1. Place your first door in the doorway.

2. Place the second door directly beside it in the adjacent block space. The mod will orient it so the two doors meet in the middle.

3. Right-click either door. Both halves should swing open with the animation.

4. Right-click again to close — both should close together.

If they do not link, break and replace one door so the game re-evaluates the pair. Doors of mismatched wood types, or a door next to a trapdoor or fence gate, will not connect. Iron doors behave the same way, but they only respond to redstone rather than right-click.
