Do I need OptiFine to use this resource pack?
OptiFine is required to see the glowing (emissive) effects on dragon-blood weapons and magic items. The animated textures will still work without it, but the bright shine in dark areas won't appear.
Why aren't my dragon-blood weapons glowing?
Make sure OptiFine is installed and enabled in your launcher. Also check that the resource pack is loaded above any conflicting packs in your resource pack list, and that you're holding or looking at actual dragon-blood weapons from the Ice and Fire mod.
Can I use this pack with shader mods?
Yes, the pack works with shader mods. There's a blue variant specifically designed to look better with shader packs if you prefer that aesthetic over the default version.
Which weapons and items get animated textures?
Dragon-blood weapons from Ice and Fire receive both animations and glowing effects, glaives from Spartan Weaponry get updated looks, and magic items like pixie dust and dragon blood glow in your inventory. Check the mod's guide on identifying enhanced items for a complete list.
Do the animations work without OptiFine?
Yes, the moving and shifting animations on weapons display fine without OptiFine. You only need OptiFine for the glowing effects to appear.
How do I switch to the blue variant?
Download the blue variant version of the pack and load it in your resource packs folder instead of the default version. You can have both downloaded but only enable one at a time.
Why do some of my weapons look normal instead of animated?
Only weapons from Ice and Fire and Spartan Weaponry are enhanced by this pack. Regular Minecraft weapons and tools from other mods won't have custom animations or glowing effects.
Does this pack work with other resource packs?
It can work alongside other packs, but load this one higher in your resource pack list to prevent other packs from overwriting its textures. If you see missing animations or glow, move this pack up in the priority order.
Will this pack affect my performance?
The animations and emissive textures have minimal performance impact. OptiFine itself may affect performance depending on your settings, but that's separate from the resource pack.
Can I use this pack on a multiplayer server?
Yes, resource packs are client-side only, so you can use this on any server without needing server permission. Other players won't see your enhanced textures unless they also install the pack.
