Tame a Western Gorilla and Earn Its Protection

Find a Gorilla Group

Head to a jungle or bamboo jungle biome. Gorillas spawn in family groups, so you'll likely find multiple individuals together. Look for the largest male (the silverback) leading females and younger gorillas.

Approach Safely

If you're near a wild male silverback, stay still or sneak while walking. Wild males are territorial and will attack if you move too close or act threatening. Moving slowly gives you time to get near without triggering aggression.

Feed Any Food Item

Once close enough, hold any food item in your hand and interact with the gorilla. This creates a friendship bond. The gorilla will no longer see you as a threat.

Stay Nearby for Protection

Your new gorilla friend won't follow you around, but it will defend you from hostile mobs as long as you remain close by. If you wander far away, you lose this protection. Keep the gorilla in sight during dangerous situations for the best results.
