Animal Garden Western Gorilla Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I tame a gorilla?
Hold any food item and approach a gorilla you want to befriend. The gorilla will eat the food from your hand, and once fed, it will become friendly and protect you from hostile mobs as long as you stay nearby.
Will my tamed gorilla follow me around?
No, tamed gorillas do not follow you. Instead, they stay in their area and will defend you from enemies if you remain close to them.
Why do wild gorillas keep attacking me?
Wild male silverbacks are territorial and will attack players or mobs that come too close to their group. To avoid this, sneak or stand still when near wild gorillas, and they will ignore you.
How do gorillas heal themselves?
When a gorilla takes damage and is not actively fighting, it will eat any item it's holding to restore its health. If it doesn't find items on the ground, a random item will appear in its hand after a few minutes.
Where can I find western gorillas?
Western gorillas spawn naturally in jungle biomes, including both regular jungles and bamboo jungles. They travel in family groups with a dominant male, females, and babies.
Can I control how many gorillas spawn in my world?
Yes, you can configure the maximum number of gorillas allowed in one area using the mod's config files or JSON files to prevent overspawning.
What items do gorillas pick up from the ground?
Gorillas will pick up most dropped items they find on the floor. You can customize the list of random items they can hold through the mod's configuration files.
Do gorillas only rest or do they do other things?
Gorillas rest periodically by sitting down, which slowly restores their health. When not resting, they walk around in family groups, pick up items, and interact with their environment.
Can I change where gorillas spawn using commands?
You cannot use commands to change spawning, but you can edit the mod's config files or JSON files to customize biome spawning locations and other gorilla behavior.
Do gorillas attack each other?
Yes, wild male silverbacks are territorial and will fight each other when they encounter one another. This is part of their natural behavior in the mod.
