When a gorilla takes damage, it will automatically eat any item currently in its hand to restore health—but only if it's not actively fighting. This means gorillas need access to food items to survive prolonged encounters.

Let Them Pick Up Items

Gorillas naturally pick up items dropped on the ground. Leave food items near your gorilla so it can grab and eat them when needed. This passive feeding system keeps them healthy without constant micromanagement.

Random Item Generation

If a gorilla hasn't found an item for several minutes, a random item will appear in its hand. This ensures your gorilla always has something to eat, though you can't control what item spawns.

Watch for Rest Periods

Gorillas sit down periodically to rest and slowly regenerate health. Don't disturb them during these breaks—let them recover naturally. This is their primary way to heal when not actively fighting.
