Understanding the Roar Mechanic

Wild and tamed male lions periodically roar, which frightens all nearby mobs except other lions. This natural fear effect causes hostile mobs to flee the area, making it a powerful passive defense tool.

Positioning Lions for Defense

Place tamed male lions around your base perimeter or near valuable areas. Set them to wander mode so they patrol naturally, or keep them in strategic spots. Their roars will trigger automatically, creating a zone of protection that repels most threats without requiring your intervention.

Combining with Other Defenses

Lion roars work best as part of a layered defense. Use them alongside walls, torches, or other mods' defenses. Multiple lions roaring in sequence can clear large groups of mobs quickly. Note that the roar only affects mobs in range, so position your pride thoughtfully based on your base layout.
