Pet Modes Explained

Your tamed hippo has three behavior modes:

• Wandering: Hippo roams freely and explores on its own
• Resting: Hippo stays in one place and recovers health slowly
• Following: Hippo follows you wherever you go

Switch modes by right-clicking your tamed hippo with an empty hand.

Keeping Your Hippo Calm

Even tamed hippos may randomly attack you. To prevent this:

1. Feed your hippo regularly with vegetables or fruit

2. Let it rest in water to restore health naturally

3. Check your mod configuration and set can_attack_randomly to false if you want to disable random attacks entirely

4. Adjust random_attack_chance to reduce attack frequency if you prefer to keep the feature enabled

Daily Care

Tamed hippos need access to water during the day for cooling and health recovery. At night, ensure they have grass to eat. Use the resting mode when you want your hippo to stay put and heal, and following mode when traveling together.
