How to Apply a Trim to Wolf Armor

What You Need

Wolf armor trimming works the same way as horse armor trimming. Gather your wolf armor, a smithing template, a trim material, and access to a smithing table. The template determines the pattern, and the material determines the color of the trim.

Step-by-Step

Open the smithing table interface. Put the wolf armor in the first slot, the smithing template in the second slot, and the trim material in the third slot. The result slot will display the trimmed wolf armor. Pull it out and equip it on your tamed wolf by right-clicking the wolf while holding the armor (or using the wolf's armor slot if your version supports it).

The trim will appear on the wolf's armor, giving your companion a customized appearance. Because the mechanic is identical to player armor trimming, any template and material combination that works on player armor will work here. You can re-trim an already-trimmed piece by repeating the process with a different template or material, which overwrites the previous trim.
