Anemos Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I turn on full brightness?
Open the mod's settings menu (usually accessible via the mod menu or in-game config screen) and increase the gamma/brightness slider to your desired level. The mod will override Minecraft's default brightness cap and apply the setting immediately.
Why does full brightness not work with my shader pack?
Enable the Fake Night Vision toggle in the mod settings instead of relying on raw gamma—this applies a shader-compatible night vision effect that works alongside most shader packs without conflicts.
Can I remove just the Blindness effect but keep Darkness?
The mod's effect cancellation settings are typically bundled, but you can toggle the Blindness and Darkness removal on or off together in the config; check the mod settings to see if individual toggles are available for your version.
What's the difference between sky fog, terrain fog, and fluid fog?
Sky fog affects the distant horizon and clouds, terrain fog controls how far you can see blocks and terrain, and fluid fog adjusts visibility when underwater or in other fluids—each can be adjusted separately to customize your visual experience.
Does this mod work in multiplayer?
Yes, the mod is client-side only, so it works on multiplayer servers without requiring the server to have it installed; your brightness and fog changes only affect your own view.
Why is there a delay when I change brightness settings?
The mod applies smooth transitions between brightness levels to avoid jarring visual changes; if the delay feels too long, check if there's a transition speed setting in the config that you can adjust.
Can I use this mod with OptiFine?
The mod is generally compatible with OptiFine, though some brightness or shader features may conflict depending on your OptiFine settings—disable OptiFine's brightness controls if you experience issues.
Does full brightness affect my FPS?
The brightness override itself has minimal performance impact, but disabling fog or using high gamma values may slightly reduce FPS on lower-end systems; adjust fog settings if you notice frame drops.
How do I reset all settings to default?
Look for a 'Reset' or 'Default Settings' button in the mod's config menu, or delete the mod's config file and restart the game to restore all original values.
Why does the Darkness effect still appear sometimes?
Make sure the Darkness cancellation is toggled ON in your mod settings, and note that some mods or effects may reapply Darkness after the mod removes it—check for conflicting mods if the issue persists.
