How to Use the Dye Cauldron and Dye Bottles

The Dye Cauldron turns a plain cauldron into a dyeing station, and Dye Bottles let you carry and apply color without hauling around stacks of dye items.

Setting up the cauldron

Place a cauldron and fill it with water as usual, then add dye to tint the water. Once tinted, the cauldron holds that color and can be used to dye items you interact with it. The Liquid Cauldron variant handles the fluid side, so keep the two straight: one is for color, the other for liquids.

Using dye bottles

  • Fill a Dye Bottle from a tinted cauldron to carry that color with you.
  • Apply the bottle to items or blocks that accept dye, saving inventory space versus loose dye.
  • Refill bottles by dipping them back into a matching cauldron.

Practical tips

Keep one cauldron per color near your workshop so you can quickly re-tint gear, wool, or carpet pieces for Amendments' carpet slabs and stairs. If a bottle won't pick up color, the cauldron may be empty or the wrong shade — top it up and re-dye. Store spare bottles in a chest beside the cauldron so a build session doesn't stall while you hunt for the right color.
