How to Use the Search Box in the Amecs Controls Menu

Why Search Matters

Vanilla Minecraft splits keybinds across many categories (Movement, Inventory, Gameplay, Miscellaneous, and one category per mod). With Amecs installed, the controls screen gains a search field, which is the fastest way to jump straight to a binding instead of hunting through tabs.

Searching Effectively

1. Open Options → Controls → Key Binds.

2. Click the search box at the top of the list.

3. Type part of the action name — for example drop, sprint, skin, or auto.

4. The list filters live as you type; only matching bindings remain visible.

5. Click the key field of the result and press your new key or combination.

6. Clear the search box to return to the full list.

Tips

  • Search matches the action description, not the key currently assigned, so search by what the action does.
  • Because Amecs adds bindings for toggling auto-jump and individual skin layers, searching skin or jump is a quick way to find those extra entries.
  • If a mod's bindings don't appear, make sure that mod is loaded — Amecs only lists bindings that actually exist in your instance.
