How to Show Off Your 3D Mace in Screenshots and Clips
Set Up the Shot
Equip the mace and stand somewhere with clean lighting — open sky at midday or a well-lit build — so the model's depth reads clearly. In
third-person view (F5), angle the
camera so you see the head from the side and slightly above; that is where the 3D shape is most obvious. For first-person shots, look down at the weapon while it is idle, then capture mid-swing.
Capture the Swing
Use F2 for screenshots. To catch the mace in motion, time the shot to the swing animation, or record a short clip and grab a frame where the head is tilted toward the
camera. Turning slightly as you swing helps the lighting shift across the model's faces, which sells the 3D effect far better than a static pose.
Make the Depth Read
Avoid flat, shadowless lighting — a torch-lit cave or an overcast spot can make the model look flatter than it is. Stand so light hits one side of the head and leaves the other in shadow. If you are recording, a slow
camera orbit around the held mace is the clearest way to demonstrate that it is a real model and not a texture. Remember the effect is client-side: anyone viewing your clip sees the 3D mace, but players on a server without the pack will not.
