Troubleshoot Mismatched or Broken Guardian Textures

Identify the Problem

If Guardians appear with missing textures, incorrect colors, or jerky animations, the patch isn't applying correctly. Common causes include incorrect load order or the patch being disabled.

Check Resource Pack Order

Open your resource pack menu and ensure this patch is ranked *above* Fresh Animations. If Fresh Animations is higher, it will override the Guardian models. Drag this patch above it and reload your world.

Verify Both Mods Are Present

This patch is a bridge—it requires both AL's Boss Rush and Fresh Animations to function. If either mod is missing or disabled, Guardians will revert to default or broken states. Check your mod list and enable both.

Clear Cache and Reload

Minecraft caches resource packs. Close the game entirely, delete the resourcepacks cache folder if present, then restart. Reload your world to force Minecraft to re-read all packs.

Test Again

Return to an Ocean Monument and observe Guardians. They should now display correctly with smooth animations and proper textures.
