Access Your Inventory While Inside a Nether Portal

Opening Inventory in the Portal

Standing inside an active Nether portal no longer forces you to exit before accessing your inventory. Simply press your inventory key (default: E) while positioned within the portal frame.

What You Can Do

Once your inventory GUI opens:

• Organize items and manage your hotbar
• Drop unwanted items
• Craft items if you have a crafting table in your inventory
• Equip armor and tools
• Sort through your storage without leaving the portal

This is especially useful when you need to manage items before stepping through to the Nether, or when organizing loot immediately after returning from a portal journey. You remain standing in the portal during this time—the GUI simply overlays on top of the portal effect, allowing you to multitask efficiently.
