How to Store and Organize All The Ores Metals Efficiently
Blocks, Ingots, Nuggets, and Dusts
Every metal in All The Ores comes in several forms: ore, raw or crushed, dust, nugget, ingot, plate, rod, gear, and block. That is a lot of item types, and a disorganized base will slow you down badly once you are juggling ten or more metals. Decide early how you will store each form.
A Simple Storage Layout
Reserve one chest or drawer per metal, with the ingot as the primary item and the other forms stored alongside it. Nuggets are useful for trading and for tiny recipe amounts, so keep a small stack. Dusts belong near your smelting or alloying area, not in deep storage. Plates, rods, and gears are crafting intermediates — keep them near your machine room where you actually use them.
Compacting for Bulk Storage
Metal blocks are the most space-efficient way to store large quantities. Nine ingots compress into one block, and the block can be broken back down whenever you need ingots. Use blocks for anything you have more than a stack of. If your pack includes storage drawers or barrels, lock them to a single metal type so you never mix copper and aluminum by accident. Label everything — future you will thank present you.
