How to Get Started with All The Ores: Finding and Mining Your First Ores

Locating Ore Veins

All The Ores generates its metals in standard overworld stone and deepslate layers, so your normal branch-mining habits still work. Aluminum, copper, tin, and other common metals spawn in the upper stone layers, while rarer materials like cinnabar tend to appear deeper. When you find a vein, mine every block in it — the mod's ore blocks drop raw chunks or dusts that you will need in bulk later.

Sorting Your First Haul

Once you have a stack or two of mixed ore, craft a furnace and start smelting. Each metal smelts into its matching ingot, which is the base for everything else in the mod. Keep your ingots separated by type in labeled chests; you will be pulling from them constantly for gears, plates, and rods. If you also have a tech mod installed, check whether it adds its own ore processing — many of them accept All The Ores ores directly and multiply your yield.

What to Prioritize

Copper and aluminum are the most useful early metals because they feed into alloys like bronze and brass. Mine a generous amount of each before you branch into rarer ores. Cinnabar is worth grabbing whenever you see it, since it is used in more specialized recipes and does not generate as commonly as the base metals.
