Building and Establishing a Base in a Cave Biome

Choosing Your Location

Find a flat or easily-leveled area within the biome that's away from mob spawners and dangerous terrain. Proximity to unique resources is ideal but not essential—you can always travel to gather materials.

Basic Construction

Start small: build a simple shelter with walls, a roof, and a door to keep mobs out. Use blocks from your inventory or harvest biome blocks if they're suitable for building. Add:

• Torches for lighting and mob prevention
• Crafting table and furnace for processing materials
• Chests for storage
• Bed for setting your spawn point

Expansion Ideas

Once secure, expand gradually:

• Create mining tunnels to nearby resource deposits
• Build platforms for safe navigation
• Set up a smelting area or enchanting station
• Add defensive walls if you plan extended stays

Resource Management

Use biome-specific blocks for decoration and construction when possible—it creates an immersive base that fits the environment. Store excess materials in organized chests and keep frequently-used tools nearby.
